An "[Original Character" is a character who exists only within our universe. For example, David isn't a parody of any specific video game character; he's a person within his own right.

Some characters, such as Bill would seem to fit better in the "Guest Star" category, but exist within the Original Characters category. The idea is, however, that the "Bill" which appears in our comic is only a comedic reference to Bill Gates (at this time the Real Bill Gates has no plans to take over the world), whereas Steve Jobs as he appears in the comic is only hawking an iPhone, a perfectly expected thing for Steve Jobs to do.
