Dubyawing

The Dubyawing is the primary flight vehicle for the Cornerian Space Patrol cadet school. Specifically designed for inflight training, the cockpit is set up nearly identically to the Arwing, while the spaceframe and armaments are of a lower (and cheaper) quality.
G-Diffusers
Another feature of the Arwing not available in the Dubyawing is the G-Diffuser, a device used in the Arwing to reduce gravity and other acceleration-type forces on the pilot, as well as providing shielding during flight. The G-Diffuser is a finicky piece of equipment, and early Dubyawings were equipped with them; however, multiple in-flight accidents with faulty G-Diffusers encouraged Astrodyne Systems, developer of both the Arwing and Dubyawing, to find a new power source to allow cadets to hone their pilot skills without worry about their powerplant.
Dubyawings are therefore outfitted with standard fusion reactors and static repulse style shielding. While this is "good enough" for training missions, actually using a Dubyawing in combat can be harrowing; while able to achieve higher speeds than Arwings (even in boost mode), the Dubyawing has half the shield capacity, un-upgradable laser cannon, and very little inertial dampening for the pilot.
