Another Hotshot
Some things just don’t go as planned. And some things don’t go as planned, all in a row. Between large natural gas emergencies calling out Lee and Shawn’s ADD, we finally have the first Missing Number Comic copyright 2010!
We are within tasting distance of the next story arc! We’re quite ready to get out of “backstory” mode and back into “Pokemon themed webcomic” mode. We’re almost to the point where non-Pokemon content beats out Pokemon themed content!
Yes, the uniforms at the bottom are uniforms from Star Trek: Enterprise. Enterprise was one of Lee’s favorite Star Trek series, so, lacking any good ideas for costumes, Shawn decided to toss those in as a bit of an easter egg.
So, enjoy this issue! And if you like our comic, go ahead and vote for it. Voting brings us visitors, and more visitors means more motivation to get off Eve Online and grab a pencil. Or at least switch to ice mining!
Quench our thirst so we can make more comics! ($2.50 for a 6-pack, $5 for a 12)View Transcript
David gestures to his friends in the apartment, painting a picture with his words. “I reported to the Cornerian Ship Field, Hanger 1. My first assignment was to fly Fox McCloud’s personal arwing to the Great Fox…” He gets this shocked expression on his face. “Just then, a giant holographic Peppy Hare head appeared next to me shouting ‘Whatcha’ STARIN’ AT, Rookie?’”
“I climbed into the cockpit, and called into Air Traffic Control. ‘ATC…’ I said, ‘am I clear for take off?’”
“The voice from ATC said ‘Roger that. Your corridor is clear of civilian traffic, Captain.’ I found out later that he told his assistant, Jim, that he was going out to grab some coffee.”
“Meanwhile, on Strip 47,” says Chris, “I was following my commander, Otis the Bobcat to his ship for a test. I could see engine check tags hanging from the ship, cracks in the engine housing, patches on the hull… ‘Are you sure this ship is safe?’ I asked. But all I got was a growl from Otis as he took another swig from his hip flask.”
