Link To The Present
We finally bring in the last main character of Missing Number, Windwaker Link. Take two normal NPCs, a crazy computer programmer, and a out-of-work video game character, put ‘em alltogeather in an apartment, and what do you get?
Our comic!
David, our colorist, tried some new things with the lighting, especially the “frontal” lighting from the frame where David opens up the door for Link.
And, how do you like that? An on time update.

David leans over the couch looking at Chris, who is reading a newspaper. “Any responses from our ad for a roommate? Rent’s due in two weeks!”
“Nope,” responds Chris. “Hey, look at this!”
Chris shows David the page of the newspaper he’s reading. The headline reads “NINTENDO LAYS OFF CHARACTERS. Making room for “more popular” characters. IGN Newswire.”
The article is dominated by a picture of Ash Ketchum, main character of the Pokemon series, being lead off by Officer Jenny. The caption reads: “Ash Ketchum: I started this franchise… and now they’re letting me go!”
The article reads:
In a stunning announcement, Nintendo confirmed the layoffs of some of their “less popular” characters. Mr. Myamoto stated that, like the Virtual Boy, sometimes you just have to “let go.”
“I took some names, and I wrote some pink slips,” Mr. Fils-Aime stated earlier today. “It was hard, but we have such excitement brewing that we couldn’t be held up by some of our less popular characters…”
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. KNOCK, KNOCK!
David turns to Chris. “You didn’t buy ANOTHER couch, did you?!?”
Chris puts down his paper. “No, I didn’t. You expecting someone?”
David walks to the door and opens it wide. “Hello?”
A hand pops in the door holding a crumpled wad of newsprint. David takes up the paper and looks at it. It’s their ad.
“Chris!” He shouts. “We’ve got us a new roommate!”
“SWEET!” Responds Chris. “Who is it?”
Who is it, indeed? A short boy (looks to be about 13-14) dressed in an all green tunic with a light green long sleeve shirt and a strage green pointed cap. He’s pushing in a luggage cart containing two purple jars. Could this be… Link, from Windwaker?! What’s he doing here?
