Vulpix Come Home 1
Well, we had fun with this one. Our colorist had the idea of having Vulpix’s FLAMETHROWER go right through the frame. It really worked, so it stays.
We’re starting our first long-term story arc here on Missing Number. Hope you enjoy the story. We’ll get to develop the characters a little more during the next few weeks!

There was a knock at the door.
The door opens, revealing Ashley. “Hello? Oh! It’s you, David! Please come on in! Ignore the mess. I’m packing.”
He opens the door wide and admits David, who looks around Ashley’s sparsely decorated apartment. On one wall is a shelf with a Virtual Boy and a model of a spaceship. There’s bookshelves, a few couches… definitely the home of a bachelor.
“You said you wanted to ask a favor of me?” asks David.
“Yah, I do…” Ashley walks over and picks up a shirt next to a suitcase, folding it. “I’ve gotta go out of town to a game developer convention… and, see, it’s all the way in Veridian City! I’ll be gone a whole week!” He puts the shirt into the suitcase and gestures over to a Vulpix standing politely in the corner. “So… you think you could take care of Vulpix for a week?”
David’s face melts at seeing the cute little Pokemon. “Well, SURE! Hello there!” He bends down and reaches for the Vulpix. “Who’s a cute little Pokemon? Who’s a cute little…”
Vulpix is not amused. She opens her mouth and attacks with FLAMETHROWER. “VULPIX!!!!!!”
