Vulpix Come Home 5

Well, that issue was fun as well. First time the sketch artist has attempted Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy (in a final draft, that is. The practice sketches have already been shredded like Enron paperwork).

The inker has discovered a speedup technique on the inking style, it saves him something like 10 hours an issue (there’s a reason we’re weekly!), but keeps the Game Boy Advance/Diamond-Pearl art style.

The colorist is happy that he’s back to being the only person working on the coloring and shading. It’s a bit difficult to coordinate color style between two different artists. The colorist has been put into deep-freeze awaiting his next issue.

In any case, we’ve had a lot of fun with this arc, and there are a few more issues to go! Can’t wait to see what’s coming along…

…in Missing Number: Adventures in Glitch City! (Or in this case, Iridescent City.)

Quench our thirst so we can make more comics! ($2.50 for a 6-pack, $5 for a 12)

Ashley runs into Iridescent City. “VULPIX!” he shouts, scanning the streets with his eyes. “VULPIX!”

Up ahead, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy are having a friendly chat at lunch. Officer Jenny looks over and sees Ashley running down the street. She signals for him.

“Hey, you… Trainer! What’s wrong?” she asks. Behind her, Nurse Joy registers some worry.

Ashley comes to a halt and tells his sad story. “My next door neighbor accidentally left my front door open while I was away at a programmer’s convention and it seems that my Vuplix has escaped!!!”

Nurse Joy walks up to Ashley and lays a comforting hand on his shoulder as Ashley buries his head in his hands. “Oh, that’s awful!” she says.

Officer Jenny walks toward her motorcycle. “I’ll send out an All Stations Alert!”

Meanwhile, in an alley just a few blocks away, Jessie gestures to a poster on the wall proclaiming a Police Convention in the city! “GREAT!” she shouts. “JUST GREAT! We have to go right past the Police Convention to get out of town!” She gives James a withering look. “Now how are we going to pull THAT off?”

James holds Vulpix (who is sleeping contentedly) in his arms. He strokes Vulpix, and Vulpix smiles in her sleep. “I’ve got an idea…”
